On the 20th May it will be 4 months since we posted our first blog post, and what a journey it’s been for Franglaise Cooking.
In 4 short months we’ve been shared, liked, retweeted, followed, commented on, featured on Foodies100 and shortlisted in the Britmums Brilliance in Blogging (BiBs) awards. Phew!
When you start a blog you hope that it will appeal and that readers will connect with your message, but neither Ben nor I dared dream of the success or support we’ve received via the blog and on social media.
Some free goodies to thank you
As a THANK YOU we put together some goodies for our readers: a printable seasonality table and 5 videos of Ben sharing the following cooking techniques:
- How to make your own vinaigrette (quick and easy, cheap, healthier than shop bought and lasts for ages)
- How to make your own mayonnaise
- How to “fold” so you can make our Chocolate Cake to die for recipe
- How to make your own caramel
- How to add hot milk to cold eggs without creating an omelette (!) this, with the caramel, will help you make our popular French Flan (like Crème Caramel) recipe
You can get all of these for free in your inbox by entering your email address in the box at the bottom of this blog post.
We are over the moon at the success of this blog, and at all the wonderful comments we frequently get from readers about the Franglaise Cooking recipes that they’ve made. (Not to mention being told at the school gates how great the Tartiflette was!)
And now we’ve decided to set ourselves a new challenge.
Because what’s life about if not for taking you out of your comfort zone?
So we’re going to announce our new challenge here then we will have to be accountable and actually carry it out.
What is this challenge?
We will be bringing out a Franglaise Cooking cookbook! It will regroup our most popular, and our own favourite recipes, along with some new dishes. The book will be in electronic format (Kindle and PDF) for those who prefer to use a tablet when cooking, as well as in a paper version for those who are more traditional 😉
To make the challenge even harder we’ve set ourselves a time frame too. Our challenge to ourselves is to have the book ready to buy by Monday 1st September – just 3 and a half months away. Eek!
So why don’t you let us know what recipes you think should feature in it? Maybe you’ve got a favourite recipe from our blog that you would like to see? Or perhaps you would like to suggest a French or a British dish that we’ve not yet covered?
Let us know your requests in the comments below and we’ll do our best to keep everyone happy 😉
